The things a reviewer asks first
Who holds the assets?TSX Trust Company is the Trust’s sole trustee. Subscriptions are payable to the Trust and received into a bank account in the Trust’s own name, maintained under the trustee’s authority. Neither the manager nor this platform holds client money at any point.
Who keeps the unitholder register?Pinnacle Fund Administrators, independently of the manager. Registered plans are held by Olympia Trust.
What is the liquidity profile?Monthly redemption on 30 days' notice with payment within 30 days after, a $50,000 monthly aggregate cap across all unitholders, and an early redemption fee starting at 6% in year one and falling to nil after five. Treat it as illiquid.
How is it priced?Net asset value per unit per series, struck at 4:00 p.m. Toronto time on the last business day of each month. Not exchange traded, no secondary market, transfer requires the manager's written consent.
What is the compensation?Set out in Item 7 of the Offering Memorandum. We will not quote a number on a web page that the OM states precisely — read it there and ask us anything that is unclear.
What is the track record? The Trust is a current offering, and its own performance history is short. The principals' record managing their own private portfolio is published separately, with the third-party CPA engagement described exactly as it was scoped. Judge it on what it is.
How business is transacted
Request the package. Use the form below or call. You will receive it as one PDF bundle with a covering index.
Speak to Drake Financial. Subscriptions are processed through the registered dealer. If you are at a different firm, that is a conversation about a referral or a selling arrangement, and Drake handle it.
Suitability stays with the registrant. If your client is yours, your firm's suitability determination governs. Above $30,000 the Offering Memorandum exemption requires recorded advice from a registrant, and it can be yours.
Your client's paperwork. We prepare and pre-fill the subscription package rather than sending your client to a web form. Registered plan transfers go through Olympia Trust.
Can my client hold this in a registered plan?
Yes — RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, RESP, LIRA, RRIF, LIF and spousal RRSP, through Olympia Trust as plan trustee, as well as non-registered and corporate accounts.
Is there a version of this for fee-based accounts?
Series F. It is the series intended for accounts where you charge your client a separate fee, so that compensation is not paid twice for the same relationship.
Do you deal directly with my client behind me?
No. If a client comes to us through you, the file says so and stays that way. Attribution is recorded at first contact.
What is the minimum for a non-individual?
A corporation, trust or foundation subscribing under the minimum amount exemption commits $150,000. Series I, for institutional allocations, has a $500,000 minimum.
Will you present to our investment committee?
Yes. The manager and the dealer will both attend, and we would rather answer the difficult questions in the room than in writing.
